#CreativecopingthruCOVID19

Hi Everyone, I wanted to share some positivity amongst so much fear & uncertainty, you are not alone.

Remember to look after your wellbeing whilst your working from home, try some new things to keep your spirits up!

Yoga in the garden, paint & bake, knit & sew, watch some classic comedy!

Take breaks from the media, whilst it’s good to keep updated on things, it’s not good to be constantly focused on suffering & negativity so try & balance your media updates with some positive things too!

Creative & coping – Get creative to support yourself & others during this time.

The health & well-being of my wonderful participants & the venues I work with is of great importance to me so my upcoming art classes at the D.@rt Centre & at Jane Scarth House Romsey have now been cancelled due to the growing concerns over COVID-19. Whilst this is a very anxious, uncertain time for us remember to support eachother, call your loved ones, help out where you can & share some positivity!

EMZ TOP TIP – Get creative whilst your indoors! Whether you are making cakes with the kids, learning a new craft/hobby or doing yoga in your garden, now is the time to make some time to be creative whilst we all try to adjust & work from home, support eachother & share your creative ideas to lift your spirits!

Meet The Artists:

Emma Morrissey BA – Emma is a business owner from Southampton & is very pleased to debut her latest collection of original paintings & prints, the collection is a direct representatin of her struggles with Anxiety over the years, with each piece demonstrating the various stages that her Anxiety would take.

“These pieces are my representation of what each stage of one of my Pnic Attacks looks like if it was to have an image linked to it, the colours used, the technique & the style of the work is all relevant to the subject & has been a very personal creative journey in creating these pieces, I hope that these pieces will give others who are struggling, a positive outlook on what can be created out of a difficult situation” Emma Morrissey 2017′

Emma has chosen Mental Health charity ‘MIND’ she will be giving a percentage of any sales to Solent Mind.

David Vane:

David Vane is better known as founder/director of SBGN, a company that has helped over 200 people to start their businesses. David says that he has not considered himself an artist but new techniques and technology have enabled him to express his view of the environment in different ways. David was moved to contact The Alzheimer’s Society after hearing several programmes on the radio about the struggles of carers and people who have dementia and he wanted to find a practical way to support research.

Please come along & show your support for local Artists & remember, any Art sles on the day will be helping to raise funds for charity.

Anxious Over Art – Content Creative

In the run-up to my upcoming Art Exhibition ‘Anxious Over Art’ in St Michael’s Square in Southampton on Sept 28th, I will be posting some details on some of the works you can expect to see & their meaning.

Anxious Over Art? So what is it? Well, this Exhibition is a reflection of the battles I have faced with Anxiety & Panic attacks, each painting depicts my visual of what each of these stages would look like if you could see them in colour.

Content Creative –

This piece was the first in the collection to be created, it was the most fun as the process of these paintings was completely new to me, the creation of the ‘Cells’ in the pieces was & is still very exciting, this piece represents me on a good day, a happy piece of Art, my anxiety is low, my creativity is high, so the colours used are very bright & vivid, the patterns are more uniform but have a playful quality. Want to hear more, come along on Sept 28th & see these pieces in person & hear the Artist talk about her work from 12pm.

Anxious Over Art – Bright

In the run-up to my upcoming Art Exhibition ‘Anxious Over Art’ in St Michael’s Square in Southampton on Sept 28th, I will be posting some details on some of the works you can expect to see & their meaning.

Flow –

This piece of Art is my personal favorite from the Collection, the bright colours chosen for it are symbolic of the rush of energy that occurs after the anxiety attack has gone, for me, this is a rush that happens due to my fear of not knowing when it may come back so I have a sudden urge to get as much done as possible whilst I can, before the anxiety or panic sets in again.
